Background

Particularly in the database field, software development is nowadays increasingly based on explicit data models and generated interfaces. The software firms participating in the Object Modeling Group (OMG) have been promoting a standardized approach, which they call Model Driven Architecture (MDA), for some time.

ECOFIN identified this trend very early on, and for almost ten years has been concerned with model-based software development. The result over the years is a software development environment that generates database schemata interfaces, XML formats and visualization components on the basis of a data model.

The software has proven its worth in many ECOFIN internal and external database projects and has been recently offered to customers.
